In "Bizarro," the 12th episode of "Supergirl's" premiere season, Kara (Melissa Benoist) will face Bizarro, a twisted version of herself (as played by Hope Lauren). However, according to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, Bizarro will represent something more than a run-of-the-mill villain of the week to Kara.

"The biggest thing about it that was a surprise for us as we constructed the character and the arc was how sad Bizzaro is," Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. "In a way, we sort of think about her like Frankenstein['s monster]. She's a monster, but she has a pure child's heart. Ironically, in the episode, while everyone else is saying, 'We have to figure out a way to destroy her,' Kara is the only one saying, 'No, no, no, we have to save her.' That makes the episode so emblematic of what's so special about Kara. She's looking to save everybody, even if they're the bad guy."

According to the official episode description, "Kara faces off against her mirror image when Bizarro (Hope Lauren), a twisted version of Supergirl, sets out to destroy her. Also, Kara grows closer with Cat's son, Adam (Blake Jenner)."
