‘Super Powers’ assemble in this week’s Shelf Porn

Happy Saturday and welcome to Shelf Porn, your weekly invitation into one fan’s home. This week’s Shelf Porn comes from Jason Horn, creator of the webcomic Ninjasaur. Jason is currently running a Kickstarter for a print collection of the strip, so head over there and check it out if you like dinosaurs, ninjas or dinosaurs who are ninjas.

If you’d like to see your shelves here on ROBOT 6, you can find instructions on how to do so below.

And now let’s hear from Jason …

A while ago, I shared pictures of my studio space. I have since had a child and turned that studio into her bedroom. Warning: kids take up space.

My father-in-law and I built a new studio in my basement, so I’m here to share new pictures!

The basic layout is the same, but I have added a few figures over the years. My Super Powers collection is almost complete. Just have to track down a cheap Samurai and Cyborg. If you know anything about Super Powers, you know that those are the expensive ones.

My Masters of the Universe collection is one of my favorites. Almost all of these are the figures I’ve had since I was five years old. I had to track down a lot of their weapons, but I’ve held onto almost everything.

I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan. The cartoon was one of my favorites as a kid. I would always draw the ghost in each episode. Then I’d cut it out and have my action figures fight the paper cut-out ghost. It helped me learn to draw.

I absolutely love the DC Kirby figures. I need to track down the rest of them. Kirby actually designed the Fourth World Super Powers figures. At first, I was just going to collect the Super Powers he designed, but I didn’t stop there. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. I’m Jason Horn, and I have a Super Powers problem.

If you’d like to see your collection featured here on Robot 6, here’s what you need to do:

1. Take some photos and save them as jpgs.
2. Write up a little something about your collection.
3. Send them to me in an email. Please put the text into an email and attach the images as separate files; don’t embed them into a Word doc. Uploading them to Dropbox or a similar service also works.
