Much has been made of the lengths Jared Leto went to in order to get in character as the Joker for "Suicide Squad." That included gifting his costars with odd gifts and staying in character even when the cameras weren't rolling.

But considering how much work Leto put into his portrayal, fans might be surprised to learn that a lot of the villain's scenes were apparently cut from the final film. In an interview with Telestar, Leto had a hard time picking just talking about one Joker scene that was cut from the film.

"Oh there are a lot of scenes," said Leto. There are a lot of scenes that didn't make it to the final film. Hopefully they will see the light of day. Who knows?"

It's always possible that those deleted "Suicide Squad" scenes could resurface on the Blu-ray. After all, fellow DC movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" got its own extended edition. However, there's no official word that "Suicide Squad" will get the same treatment.

Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis and more, "Suicide Squad" opens on August 5.
