Hal Jordan is one of the greatest heroes in the DC Multiverse. He's proven to be one of the greatest Green Lanterns of all time, his amazing skill with his power ring and sheer fearlessness allowing him to triumph when all of the odds are against him. It doesn't matter if he's on his own or with the Corps or Justice League, Hal faces down the worst of the worst without flinching.

While the heroes of Marvel are a formidable lot, some of the most powerful would fall before Jordan. His power ring, inventiveness, and experience would be too much for them.

10 Beast's Acrobatic Assault Wouldn't Be Enough Against Hal

Beast reading while kicking enemies

The Beast is one of the longest-tenured X-Men. His mutant strength and agility make him a formidable opponent. He's also a genius, which has helped every team he's been on. As good as he is, there's not really much he can do against Hal Jordan. His offense is quite limited and there's no way he'd be able to figure out a way to beat the ring.

Even with all the resources of X-Force at his disposal, Hal would just be too much for Beast to deal with. Beast would give it his all but in the end, Hal would rather easily take him out, getting a nearly flawless victory over the mutant.

9 Spider-Man Is Good But He's Not Beat The Power Ring Good

Non-Stop Spider-Man feature

Spider-Man is the best of the best. He's made a career of overcoming the odds, his spider powers and sheer stubborn refusal to go down giving him an advantage over everyone he fights. Unfortunately, this isn't going to help him very much against Hal Jordan. Hal can cut off all of Spider-Man's offense and even negate the spider-sense's effectiveness.

Spider-Man's fast, but ring constructs can be even faster. Hal can control the speed of the fight rather easily, building a massive network of constructs around Spider-Man that will cut off his ability to dodge and leave him open for a takedown.

8 Luke Cage's Unbreakable Skin Isn't Going To Protect Him For Long

Luke Cage

Luke Cage is one of the toughest heroes in New York. His super strength gives him devastating offense but his greatest advantage over his foes is his unbreakable skin. He can take a serious beating before going down, which gives him the perfect opportunity to strike back. While his durability is going to keep him in the fight for a while against Hal, it's not going to win him the fight.

Luke has no long-range attacks, so he can't mount a credible offense against Hal. Eventually, Hal will figure out a way to take Luke out, whether it be by bludgeoning him until he goes down or choking him out.

7 Cyclops's Optic Blasts Can't Break Ring Force Fields

X-Men-Cyclops-Krakoa

Cyclops's optic blasts are a devastating weapon and beyond that, he's a ridiculously skilled hero. He's been battling evil for a long time and while he's best at the head of a team, he's still formidable on his own. A battle between Cyclops and Hal would be an interesting one because the mutant would keep testing Hal's power ring and what it could do.

Cyclops is a smart foe, so he's going to keep Hal on his toes but that's not going to win the fight. Hal's power ring is too versatile for Cyclops to overcome; as powerful as the optic blasts are, they aren't going to break through a ring shield, which gives Hal plenty of time to win.

6 War Machine's Offense Is Going Stall Against Jordan

Iron Man - War Machine With His Weapons Smoking After Use

War Machine's armor was designed specifically for his fighting style and it's allowed him to overshadow his mentor Iron Man at the time. He's a very tough opponent to beat but as good as his armor is, it doesn't have anything it can do against Hal Jordan's power ring. Too much of it uses conventional weapons like bullets and missiles and even the repulsor blasts would be ineffective against ring constructs.

Unfortunately for War Machine, the armor isn't going to be able to make a lot of difference against Hal's force fields. While it might take a little bit for Hal to come up with a construct to hurt War Machine, once he does the fight is all but over.

5 Not Even One Of Iron Man's Specialty Armors Would Save Him From Losing To Hal Jordan

iron man volume 15

Iron Man is one of the greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe, his specialty armors giving him a wide variety of options. There's a good chance that if he could study a Green Lantern ring, he might be able to prepare for a fight with Hal Jordan, although his track record with making successful specialty armors for things like it is pretty bad. Going in cold, he'd have no chance.

Iron Man's offense isn't really anything special and Jordan could easily use the ring to take apart the armor piece by piece. Even if Hal didn't go that direction, it still wouldn't be difficult for Jordan to defeat the Armored Avenger.

4 Storm Would Give Hal A Run For His Money But Couldn't Win

X-Men SWORD Storm Tarn 3

Storm is one of the most powerful mutants on the planet. Beyond her sheer skill with her mutant powers, she's also an indomitable fighter, one who is at good hand to hand as she is otherwise. Her powers are such that she can ruin an entire continent's day with a thought but that's not going to help her against Hal Jordan.

Storm is going to make it very hard on Jordan, between the lighting blasts, hurricanes, and tornadoes she can throw at him. None of them are going to be able to break through his shields, though, so while it might take time to get to her, he'll be able to put her down before she beats him.

3 Captain Marvel Would Test Hal Like Few Others

Captain Marvel

Carol Danvers has proven to be one of the most powerful Captain Marvels and her energy absorption abilities give her a greater weapon to use against Hal Jordan than just about any hero in the Marvel Universe. There's a better than even chance that she can absorb Jordan's ring energies, which cuts off a lot of his offense.

If that's the case, all hope still isn't lost. Jordan's ring's systems should be able to modulate the energy of the ring to a type that Captain Marvel would find difficult to absorb. This would give him the advantage he needed to defeat her.

2 Invisible Woman And Hal Would Have An Epic Duel

invisible-woman-display

Invisible Woman is easily the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four and her powers and Hal's have a lot in common. In fact, Hal can even use the ring to turn invisible if he needs to. A battle between the two would come to down to who could outthink the other. While Invisible Woman is definitely resourceful, Hal has proven to be more so.

Invisible Woman is used to having backup and while she's crafty, she doesn't have the advantage of the ring's sensor system. It'd be able to keep track of her even when she's invisible and perhaps figure out how to get through her force fields. It gives Hal an advantage that would allow him to get the win.

1 Hulk Wouldn't Smash Hal Jordan

The Hulk Comic Panel Distressed

The Hulk is the strongest one there is, no matter what version of him is in the fight. If there's anyone who could eventually break through a ring construct, it's the Hulk but Hal isn't going to be dumb enough to let that happen. That said, Hal would still find it near impossible to hurt the Hulk with his constructs, and the whole time Hulk is getting stronger and stronger.

The only way for Hal to win the fight is to stay out of Hulk's way and use constructs to choke him out. This still won't be easy to do but the ring makes it possible. Hal can be foolhardy but he's all about figuring out a way to win; he'll realize what he has to do and that would be that.
