The Marvel Cinematic Universe has continued to expand the Multiverse Saga with films like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Between the Disney+ series and the new movies in Phase Five, Six, and beyond, the MCU has continued to introduce plenty of characters from the comics.

The recent introduction of Wakanda Forever's Namor and the new heroes from the Eternals are just a few examples of powerful characters from Marvel's comic universe. However, there are still quite a few heroes and villains who have yet to make their cinematic debuts in the MCU.

However, there are still a lot of powerful beings from the comics missing from the cinematic universe who could change everything up in the next phases of the Multiverse Saga.

20 Captain Britain

Brian Braddock was offered a powerful artifact known as the Amulet of Right, which transformed him into Captain Britain. His strength and speed were magically enhanced, and he dedicated himself to protecting his country. However, he was also charged with protecting his particular Earth in the larger omniverse as a member of the Captain Britain Corps.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • Enhanced strength, speed, and the ability to fly
  • His powers are stronger closer to Britain
  • Channels interdimensional mystical energies

With the MCU's new focus on the multiverse and the various other worlds of Marvel heroes that exist, it's the perfect time for Captain Britain and his best costumes to appear on the big screen. He's explored the multiverse for years, worked alongside teams like Excalibur and the Secret Avengers, and served his country as an agent of M13. All these arcs could be explored in the movies.

19 Ghost Rider

There have been a few different characters who've been transformed into the fiery spirit of vengeance Ghost Rider over the years. Johnny Blaze was a daredevil who made a corrupt deal with the devil to save his father's life. He became Ghost Rider and rode his fiery motorcycle to pass judgment on sinners and criminals.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He controls hellfire and can infuse his weapons and vehicles
  • The penance stare can break criminals with their own evil deeds
  • There have been Ghost Riders dating back to the Stone Age

Ghost Rider has several deadly abilities that make him one of Marvel's most powerful heroes. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced a live-action adaptation of the Robbie Reyes version of the character, but the series' place in the MCU canon has been denied ever since.

18 Hyperion

The Squadron Supreme was a team of heroes from an alternate reality who ultimately found themselves stranded in Earth-616. That would make the team perfect for the MCU's focus on the multiverse. A powerful hero named Hyperion led the Squadron Supreme, and yet another alternate version of the character also joined the Avengers after he escaped his destroyed reality.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He can fly at incredible speed and has enhanced super-strength
  • Hyperion can fire devastating blasts of atomic vision from his eyes
  • He can absorb cosmic radiation to further increase his power

Hyperion is one of Marvel's Superman-like characters boasting many powerful abilities which make him a dangerous threat. The version of Hyperion named Marcus Milton who joined one of the strongest rosters of the Avengers was a multiversal Eternal. He found a kindred spirit in Thor as one of the few who understood Hyperion's incredible power as well as his incredible loneliness.

17 Magneto

The MCU has yet to officially introduce mutants into its mainstream reality, but Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduced an alternate-reality version of Professor Xavier as a member of the Illuminati. This makes it even more likely that mutants like the X-Men and Magneto could be introduced shortly.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • Magneto is an omega-level mutant whose master of magnetism is nearly limitless
  • He has been de-aged on more than one occasion to remain at his prime strength
  • He can fly, create magnetic shields, and manipulate electromagnetic energy

Magneto would introduce a powerful new threat to the MCU if he was in full villain mode, especially thanks to his ego. His ability to control metal using the planet's magnetic field would make him a powerful enemy to any current MCU hero, as well as the X-Men who wouldn't be far behind him.

16 Captain Universe

Quite a few characters have been chosen by the cosmic power known as the Enigma Force over the years, which uses the Uni-Power contained within every living being to empower its chosen heroes as Captain Universe. Each version of Captain Universe has a sometimes unique power set that's adapted to deal with each iteration of the character.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • The Enigma Force has empowered heroes like Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Wolverine
  • Captain Universe's Uni-Vision can sense danger and force others to tell the truth
  • Hosts can use the Uni-Power to manipulate matter and energy in various ways

The costumed heroes most commonly have a cosmic awareness as well as the ability to manipulate cosmic energy. This makes them incredibly powerful — albeit sometimes inexperienced — characters who could add a whole new dimension to the MCU.

15 Magik

When Illyana Rasputina was a kid, Belasco took her captive and brought her to Limbo. He raised her there for years and trained her to become an expert in dark arts. This training, combined with her teleportation and time travel abilities, made her an asset for the New Mutants after she escaped Limbo.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • She can teleport across space and time using her stepping discs
  • Her powerful Soulsword also covers her in mystical golden armor
  • She can lose control to a dark demonic half called the Darkchylde

Magik eventually became the ultimate leader of Limbo, a hellish dimension full of demons. She has proven over the years that she is a deceptively-powerful Alpha-level mutant. Magik already appeared in the live-action The New Mutants movie portrayed by Anna Taylor-Joy. However, the X-Men's powerful mutant sorceress hasn't made her appearance in the MCU yet.

14 Franklin Richards

Marvel Studios revealed that the Fantastic Four will appear in the MCU's upcoming Phase 6. While Reed Richards and Susan Storm will definitely be appearing in the upcoming movie, it might be a while until fans get to see Richard's son Franklin and his powerful reality-altering abilities.

  • Franklin is a prophetic psionic who can alter matter and warp reality
  • He created an entire world of people to save his friends and family
  • Franklin Richards helped rebuild the multiverse as a cosmic shaper

​​​Franklin Richards grew up to take on the name Powerhouse, due to the incredible levels of cosmic energy at his disposal. ​​​​While his abilities have waned in recent years, future versions of the character have proven their strength in numerous ways. One version had reached a new cosmic level that even turned Galactus into his loyal herald.

13 Michael Korvac

He isn't the most well-known villain who's threatened the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy over the years. However, Michael Korvac has tried to achieve god-like cosmic abilities across storylines like "The Korvac Saga" and "The Books of Korvac" which have proven that he's one of the most dangerous villains yet to appear on the big screen.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • Korvac's android body has been rebuilt and improved a few times over the years
  • He absorbed Galactus' Power Cosmic to gain access to even more deadly energy
  • He can manipulate matter. move across time, and warp reality when fully powered

After Korvac betrayed Earth to alien Badoon overlords in the future, he was transformed into a robotic/human hybrid as punishment. His new form allowed him to absorb cosmic energy and travel back to the present day in order to remake the universe in his image.

12 Gladiator

The MCU has introduced quite a few alien races like the Kree and the Skrull across the Infinity Saga. The Shi'ar were most commonly associated with the X-Men, so they didn't have the opportunity to appear in the MCU before Disney purchased the character rights back from 20th Century Fox.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • His powers are stronger when he's confident in his abilities
  • Kallark is a Strontian with enhanced strength, speed, and flight
  • He is a nearly immortal being who can also fire heat beams

The Shi'ar Empire is protected by its own powerful team of costumed heroes known as the Imperial Guard led by the incredibly powerful Gladiator. His strength and determination are known and feared across the entire galaxy. He eventually became the Majestor of the entire Shi'ar Empire until Xandra Neramani was ready to take over.

11 Rogue

Rogue is one of the strongest female heroes in Marvel. She’s a mutant with the ability to absorb other people’s life energy by putting her hands on them. When she touches another mutant, she immediately gains their abilities, but if she touches anyone long enough, she could put them in a coma or kill them.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • Stole Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel's strength, speed, and flight
  • She later permanently absorbed Wonder Man's abilities
  • Rogue can now absorb energy and powers from a distance

So far, the MCU has introduced two mutants; Namor and the reimagined Inhuman, Ms. Marvel. The MCU is allegedly still far from introducing the X-Men, but fans definitely want to see Rogue as one of the main characters in the new adaptation.

10 Annihilus

The MCU has dealt with powerful cosmic threats like Thanos and other-dimensional beings like Dormammu. However, fans are still waiting to see the classic Fantastic Four villain turned universal threat Annihilus make his live-action debut in the MCU.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He gained incredible power from exposure to the Cosmic Control Rod
  • An experimental growth accelerant further empowered Annihilus
  • Annilhus is continually reborn after death, making him virtually immortal

The insectoid Annihilus hails from the Negative Zone which was first discovered by Reed Richards. Annihilus launched his devastating swarm fleet of ships from the Negative Zone in the Annihilation event. He almost conquered the whole universe before he and his armada were stopped by a united force of cosmic heroes.

9 Silver Surfer

The return of Fantastic Four characters to Marvel Studios includes the inevitable threat of Galactus, better known as the Devourer of Worlds. Galactus empowered heralds like Norrin Radd with the Power Cosmic to become the Silver Surfer. He found suitable planets for Galactus to consume, but Silver Surfer fought for and won his freedom.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He has superhuman strength, speed, and invulnerability
  • Silver Surfer can manipulate matter, energy, and warp reality
  • He can travel freely across space and into other dimensions

Silver Surfer retained his abilities thanks to the Power Cosmic and became a central figure in the affairs of Marvel's cosmic universe. As the cosmic element of the MCU has been lacking since its inception, fans are likely to see the Sentinel of the Spaceways in future phases.

8 Blue Marvel

Characters like Tony Stark and Shuri are some of the most brilliant minds in the MCU. However, new heroes like Reed Richards and Riri Williams/Ironheart set the stage for the hidden genius Adam Brashear/Blue Marvel.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He's a living anti-matter reactor with access to nearly limitless energy
  • His Class 100+ strength can increase through energy absorption
  • Hyper cosmic-awareness gives Blue Marvel an enhanced perception

Brashear was transformed and empowered during an anti-matter experiment with the Negative Zone, and he became a hero during the 1960s. The tense racial climate of the time saw Brashear step behind the scenes at the request of the government, continuing his work in secret. Blue Marvel eventually returned on teams like the Mighty Avengers and the Ultimates.

7 Phoenix Force

One of the most powerful cosmic entities in the Marvel universe, the Phoenix Force is the manifestation of life and creation across the universe. The Phoenix Force can modify the universe at will in an ongoing cycle of destruction and rebirth as an essential component of the universe.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • The Phoenix Force is nigh-omnipotent but has trouble seeing outside its purpose
  • Nearly limitless cosmic energy that can tap into life force energy across the timeline
  • Has a dark but equally powerful multiversal opposite known as the Goblin Force

The Phoenix Force usually requires a host like Jean Grey with the omega-level mutant potential to contain its awesome energies. While the "Dark Phoenix Saga" has been adapted twice over on the big screen, the cosmic Phoenix Force has yet to make its way to the MCU.

6 The Sentry

Bob Reynolds/The Sentry existed well before most of the modern Marvels appeared in the comics. However, he was retroactively inserted following his debut in 2000. His entire history as a costumed superhero had been erased by his enemies until the New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men helped unlock his past.

  • His enhanced strength, speed, and invulnerability make him a deadly threat
  • He can manipulate molecules and alter his form with limited control
  • Sentry bonded with the Void to create a powerful but detached new form

When he returned as The Sentry, the New Avengers saw the unlimited potential of his powers, as well as the destabilizing influence of a presence known as The Void. The Sentry's appearance in the MCU could bring a powerful new ally to the Avengers while also setting up his villainous turn in future phases.

5 Molecule Man

Owen Reese was involved in an accident that was instigated by the powerful race of beings known as The Beyonders. They imbued him with incredible powers that he used as a villain named Molecule Man. He gained the ability to control, manipulate, and transform the building blocks of the universe which he initially focused through his wand.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He is both nigh-omnipotent and nigh-omniscient
  • Molecular manipulation allows him to warp reality
  • He can travel faster than light through wormholes

Molecule Man's powers continued to grow and his mental stability weakened which made him a pawn in many other characters' plans. Molecule Man was instrumental in saving the universe with the Avengers in the modern Secret Wars. He helped rebuild the multiverse due to his unique origins as a planned multiversal bomb for the Beyonders.

4 The Beyonder

The Beyonder first appeared during the 1984 Secret Wars maxi-series as a curious and powerful entity. He chose to pit the heroes and villains of Earth against each other in an ultimate battle of good vs. evil on a new cosmic scale.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He has incredible psionic potential and reality-altering abilities
  • Nigh-omnipotent but lacking critical knowledge about life
  • Ability to effortlessly travel across dimensional barriers

He transported the characters to his newly created planet called Battleworld in the first of his many appearances. While The Beyonder has returned to fulfill more of his curiosities, the rest of his powerful other-dimensional species appeared in later comics. They revealed the Beyonder was an infant member of their race, showcasing the near-infinite potential of their abilities.

3 Galactus

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Galactus, also known as the Devourer of Worlds, is a cosmic explorer whose existence predates the Big Bang. Previously named Galan, Galactus travels through the universe eating planets to sustain his cosmic powers. He used the Silver Surfer as his herald to announce his arrival.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • He was the only survivor of the previous universe
  • Galactus and his heralds wield the Power Cosmic
  • An immortal with nearly limitless strength and speed

Galactus is inarguably one of the most important characters in Marvel, but the MCU still hasn’t introduced him after 15 years. Considering his cosmic scale, a battle against Galactus would make for excellent cinema. Fans are hoping the upcoming debut of the MCU's Fantastic Four in Phase Six will bring the World Devourer to the big screen.

2 Mephisto

While there are a few different Lords of Hell in the Marvel Universe, Mephisto best fits the typical physical description and Faustian wish-fulfillment of the biblical Devil. His rumored presence in the MCU became a big talking point among Marvel fans in Phase 4.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • Contains vast supernatural powers as a high-level demon
  • He is powered by the combined sources of evil in humanity
  • Powerful sorcerer with nearly unlimited knowledge

Disney+'s WandaVision teased a mystery that had fans connecting Mephisto to the series, but no official confirmation of the character's debut has been announced by Marvel Studios. She-Hulk further teased Mephisto's ongoing presence in the background of the MCU, which could further hype the live-action debut of one of Marvel's most important villains.

1 The One-Above-All

The supreme ruler of the Universe, the One-Above-All was created by Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo for Fantastic Four #511 after being mentioned almost 50 years prior. The One-Above-All is the creator of the whole multiverse and anything beyond it. As they're responsible for the whole multiverse, there’s no one more powerful than them.

Major Strengths and Powers

  • Can also appear as the demonic One-Below-All
  • He is omnipotent[, omnipresent, and omniscient

The One-Above-All doesn’t have a name or a shape, but they have taken the image of many characters, like when they met the Fantastic Four taking the form of Jack Kirby. The One-Above-All is another character who can break the fourth wall. Now that Deadpool and She-Hulk have a cinematic counterpart, fans might see one of Marvel's most powerful cosmic beings appear in the MCU.
