SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains potential spoilers for future episodes of "The Walking Dead" and past storylines of the "Walking Dead" comic book series.

While fans of "The Walking Dead" comic know what the imminent arrival of Negan meant for Glenn in the Image Comics series, many television viewers remain in the dark as to just how dangerous he is. Specifically, how fatal he and his barbed wire-wrapped bat Lucille are for Glenn.

Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn on the AMC drama, falls into the former camp, having been a fan of Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's comic since before he landed his role on the show. However, while most fans of Glenn dreaded the arrival of Negan, Yeung says he was excited for it.

"For me, his arrival is awesome," Yeun tells Entertainment Weekly. "We've been waiting for this person for a long time, and in the comic books, he in a way brings a level of stakes that are kind of unmatched. And so, for me, for Negan to come into the show is, to say nothing less, f-ing awesome."

The actor also offers a bit of hope for those who, like him, have become attached to Glenn's television incarnation." I know people are going to always go, "Negan kills Glenn in the comics,' but rest assured that we don't necessarily do what's in the comics," he says. "There's a clear divide in the way we tell a story on television, and the way that story is told in the comics, because it has to be. And everybody will have to see what happens, but we definitely tell our story in the way that television should be told."

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 pm EST on AMC. With three episodes left in the season, Negan will arrive soon.
