Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, who worked together on such project as Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can and The Terminal, soon may reteam for a Cold War thriller.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning actor is attached to star in the true story of James Donovan, an attorney who negotiated with the Soviet government for the release of the downed U-2 spy plane pilot Gary Powers, earning him the Distinguished Intelligence Medal.

Written by Matt Charman, the untitled DreamWorks Studios film is one of several Spielberg is said to be considering for his next project (it's in competition with the likes of Robopocalypse, Montezuma and The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara).
