Shortly after it was announced that Arrow star Stephen Amell would headline Starz's upcoming pro-wrestling drama Heels, the actor put a call out to an old friend to join him: AEW star and executive vice president Cody Rhodes."Hey @CodyRhodes -- wanna come and help me make a tv show?" Amell tweeted along with a screenshot of Deadline's original announcement. "Congratulations!" Rhodes replied. "...and yea, of course[.]"

Amell and Rhodes' history with one another dates back to the latter's tenure with WWE. In 2015, the two had an on-screen rivalry that culminated with a tag-team match at Summerslam in which Amell and Neville defeated Rhodes (as Stardust) and King Barret. The following year, Rhodes stepped onto Amell's turf by playing the villainous Derek Sampson on Arrow -- a role he reprised in 2018 for Season 7.

Returning Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Katie Cassidy as Black Siren, Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Joseph David-Jones as Connor Hawke and Ben Lewis as William Clayton-Queen.
