James Robinson and Tony Harris collaborated for dozens of issues of the acclaimed "Starman" series at DC Comics in the 1990s -- and now that team is back together at Marvel Comics, and maintaining the "Star" theme. They're working on a one-shot titled "Star Wars Special: C-3P0," announced Friday afternoon by StarWars.com.

The comic will tell an important part of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" backstory: Why the famous protocol droid has a red arm in the December-debuting film. "That's a really exciting part of doing this story," Robinson is quoted in the announcement. "I saw a photo of C-3PO with his red arm the other day and I thought 'Wow, I'm the writer who gets to explain that.'"

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is scheduled for release on Dec. 18; "Star Wars Special: C-3P0," is due out that same month.
