Since the debut of Don Cheadle’s “Iron Man 3” poster, one-sheets for the Shane Black-directed sequel have released like clockwork, including Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, Sir Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin and Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia “Pepper” Potts. While it’s not an officially released image, enterprising Tumblr user WhenYouWereHereBefore snapped a picture of a European poster featuring Tony Stark surrounded by his Iron Man armors taking off around him with the smoldering ruins of his California home in the background.
UPDATE 2/27/2013 9:22 AM: Yahoo! Movies has posted a hi-resolution version of the poster, giving a clearer look at the new image.
Check out the film’s official synopsis below.
Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Directed by Shane Black, “Iron Man 3” also stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Jon Favreau, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. It opens May 3.
