"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" doesn't open for another six months, but it's already broken a world record.

Guinness World Records certified this week that the second teaser for the hotly anticipated J.J. Abrams film now holds the title for the most-viewed movie trailer on YouTube in 24 hours.

According to Guinness, the footage racked up a staggering 30.65 million views within a day of its April 16 debut. And that's only counting the version released on the Star Wars YouTube channel, which is now up to more than 54 million views.

"The release of the clip created unprecedented levels of excitement among Star Wars fans around the world," the company said in a statement, "with the trailer featuring the return of the charismatic villain-hero Han Solo, once again played by Harrison Ford, alongside his furry co-pilot Chewbacca." (We're guessing they mean "antihero"?)

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens Dec. 18.
