Fresh from Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, the second teaser for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has debuted online. And if this one doesn't bring a smile to the faces of franchise fans, then few things will.

While the footage, which clocks in at just about two minutes, focuses on the next generation of characters, it's peppered with familiar images, from the wreckage of a Star Destroyer on Tatooine to the twisted helmet of Darth Vader to R2-D2 standing beside a hooded figure ... with a cybernetic hand. They save perhaps the best is left for the very last, however.

Of course, it's not all nods to nostalgia, as we're shown signs of a defeated Empire that remains a threat, with adversaries like Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, and those sleek new stormtroopers.

Opening Dec. 18, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie.
