STAR WARS EPISODE VII
Deadline reports that “X-Men: First Class” writer Simon Kinberg and “Empire Strikes Back”/”Return of the Jedi” scribe Lawrence Kasdan are in talks with Disney to script the eighth and ninth installments in its upcoming “Star Wars” sequels. However, Deadline is quick to note that this is currently just a rumor and nothing has been confirmed by the studio. Disney plans to generate a “Star Wars” film every other year beginning in 2015.
MAN OF STEEL
A new “Man of Steel” trailer will be included with the December 14 release of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and MTV caught up with director Zack Snyder to get his thoughts on the Superman reboot and its cast.
“[Michael] Shannon is great, he has such great enthusiasm and dedication constantly,” Snyder told MTV. “You can imagine that you could get actors who go, ‘Oh right, it’s Zod, it’s not 100 percent serious,’ or [you can play it] slightly with a wink, there is none of that with him. His effort is to make it realized and to understand this character and what he has to go through, so you have that on one side and you have Henry, who basically is Superman, on the other side and that dynamic.”
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has launched a promotional website for “The Dark Knight Rises” DVD/Blu-ray release that will unlock new “Man of Steel” content if shared enough over social networks.

THE WALKING DEAD
AMC’s adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead” finally gets Tyreese this season. “The Wire” actor Chad Coleman has been officially cast as Tyreese and will make his first appearance in the fall finale on December 2. According to TV Overmind, “it appears that Tyreese will end up in Woodbury for the majority of the season,” a very different storyline for the character than in the source material.
