As expected, "Star Wars" Marvel Comics return was a triumphant one, with Jason Aaron and John Cassaday's series debuting in the top position on Diamond Comics' January 2015 sales chart. Marvel is claiming sales of over one million copies of the new series' forst issue, so it's no surprise to see the publisher control a commanding 41% of the market's dollar share in January, and nearly 46% of the unit share.

Marvel's good fortunes and strong debuts didn't stop there. While DC Comics' "Batman" was the #2 seller and "Justice League" landed at #9, "Amazing Spider-Man" and "Thor" remained Top Ten titles, while "Uncanny Avengers," "Ant-Man" and "Wolverines" all debuted in the Top Ten as well.
Image Comics' sales juggernaut "The Walking Dead" rounds out the list in the #10 position.
DC Comics was January's #2 publisher, with Image maintaining its #3 slot. As usual, Image ruled the Top Ten for graphic novels, with "Walking Dead," "Saga," "Black Science" and more represented.
Despite the amazing sales for "Star Wars" #1, overall, the market for monthly comics was down over 2.5% in both dollars and units from December 2014; Graphic novels, however, saw a 9-10% increase over the previous month. Year to year, January 2015 was up significantly from its 2014 counterpart, across the board.
