WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Star Wars #3 by Charles Soule, Jesús Saiz, Arif Prianto and VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale Wednesday, Feb. 26.

When Marvel Comics launched Star Wars #1 back in 2015, it picked up following the events of Star Wars: A New Hope. Now, a relaunch of the series by Charles Soule and Jesús Saiz will jump ahead to the next film in the timeline, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and the aftermath of Luke Skywalker discovering that Darth Vader is his father.

Of course, that wasn't the only traumatic event to happen to Luke in the final moments of The Empire Strikes Back. Before revealing that he's Luke's father, Darth Vader had the pleasure of cutting his son's hand off, forcing Luke to drop his lightsaber down a wind tunnel deep inside Cloud City. Fans of the franchise will already know that this lightsaber was originally the property of Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader before he turned to the Dark Side), and was passed to Luke by Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Luke eventually built himself a new green lightsaber that debuted in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, but whatever happened to Luke's original weapon? Marvel's new Star Wars comic appears to be teasing a backstory for the lost lightsaber, and a preview of Star Wars #3 has Luke, Princess Leia and Lando Calrissian returning to Cloud City to find Luke's lightsaber.

Even though our heroes just escaped Cloud City, they return when Lando reveals he has an idea of where Luke's lightsaber may have ended up. Since the lightsaber fell down a wind tunnel, there is a good chance Lando can find it. All they have to do is sneak back into a Cloud City that is still under the thumb of the Empire. When a group of security ships confronts our heroes upon re-entry, Lando tries to use his charm to appeal to a pilot who used to work for him.

Lando and Karyn Sitra of Cloud City Security concoct a plan to allow Lando's ship to get close enough to Cloud City. However, a major problem with the plan is the Empire is controlling the city's security array, which immediately starts firing on them. Thankfully, Luke is a skilled pilot and is able to avoid their blasts. This allows their ship to get close enough to Cloud City for Lando to transmit a deactivation code, turning off the city's defenses.

As Lando so eloquently states, "Cloud City belongs to me." The Empire and Darth Vader may believe they are running things, but it is only as long as Lando permits it. If anyone can help Luke track down his lost lightsaber within Cloud City, it's Lando Calrissian.
