Force Friday returns to stores on September 1st, and Target is asking Star Wars fans to bring their "Rey Game." In a new ad, the store celebrates the scavenger-turned-hero of the new Star Wars trilogy.

Before the release of The Force Awakens, Force Friday was a huge, worldwide event. It marked the day that toys, apparel and all sorts of Star Wars merchandise was first made available to the public. To other fans, it was an opportunity to hunt for clues to the story of the mysterious movie by looking at toy descriptions or even from listening to recorded lines of dialogue spoken by action figures.

The event wasn't without controversy, though. Rey, ostensibly the main character of The Force Awakens, was missing from a lot of the merchandise, sparking the #WheresRey movement. Rey was even excluded from ensemble sets, like the new edition of Star Wars Monopoly before she was added in later editions in some countries.

This time, Rey is the star of the show. The new target ad features ladies of all ages engaging in all sorts of hardcore activities, from martial arts to skateboarding. A lot of them are dressed in Rey cosplay, and a lot of them look like they know what they are doing with a lightsaber. The video ends with the hashtag #ShareTheForce and a reminder that fans should bring their Rey game.

Force Friday will hit stores around the world on September 1st.
