R2-D2 served as ring-bearer at a Star Wars-themed wedding held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood before the premiere last night of The Force Awakens.

Caroline Ritter and Andrew Porters flew from Australia to Los Angeles earlier this month to camp with other fans outside the historic theater ahead of opening night, a decades-long tradition for the franchise faithful. The couple had made the pilgrimage twice before.

"This theater changed my life in 2002 it was the perfect spot for us," Ritter told Mashable last week. "I am a veteran of Lining Up for Star Wars 2002 and 2005...the family and friendships we've made, that's why I keep coming back. TCL have been fantastic to let us do this. This is a dream come true."

While the couple was dressed in fairly traditional attire for the ceremony (the bride's dress featured "handmade crystal X-wing starfighters" while the groom's boutonnière included a little Millennium Falcon), they were surrounded by Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Stormtroopers and assorted Jedi, one of whom played "The Imperial March" on violin.

According to TheWrap, the event was sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts and orchestrated by TLC Chinese Theater. Baskin-Robbins also created Star Wars-themed wedding cakes.
