The Battle of Hoth in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back ended with the Alliance forced to abandon Echo Base and scatter its fleet across the galaxy. Odds are that, in the confusion, at least some Rebels were left behind.

"Rebel Scum," a new fan film from Blood Brother Cinema, tells the story of one pilot stranded in enemy territory following the crash of his snowspeeder. Cut off from the Alliance, and desperate to return to his family, Echo 12 uses his wits to avoid capture and a frozen death.

It's a sold film, shot on location in Alberta, Canada. "'Rebel Scum' pays homage to the original Star Wars trilogy," the filmmakers explain. "Nearly all visual effects were created without the use of CGI, using time honored methods such a stop-motion animation."
