Principal photography has wrapped on "Star Wars: Episode VIII," which will arrive in theaters Dec. 15, 2017. Lucasfilm commemorated the occasion with a brief video showing the final slate.

“Final slate of the final shot. VIII is officially wrapped,” director Rian Johnson said. “Thanks to the best cast and crew in the galaxy, and thanks to the fans for all the love and support though the whole process. Cannot wait to put it together and share it with you all!"

Written and directed by Johnson, the sequel to 2015's "The Force Awakens" stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
