Ready or not, here it comes: Star Wars: Episode VII remains on course for a 2015 release date, despite apparent attempts by the creative team to push the debut back a year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy and other key members of the Star Wars creative team have asked Disney CEO Robert Iger to move the release date of Episode VII from 2015 to 2016. The reason stems at least in part from the decision to replace Michael Arndt's script with one by Episode VII  director J.J. Abrams and Empire Strikes Back writer Lawrence Kasdan — "a script that several insiders say isn't close to ready," the website asserts.

But the request was denied, with Iger reportedly refusing to budge on the 2015 release date.
