"[Lando] was the first action figure I ever had. I remember my dad giving it to me," Glover told The Hollywood Reporter. "I had a Darth Vader one and this one that I lost the cape and bit off the... Yeah, the lightsaber came out of the arm, and I ripped that out. I remember Lando really well. He was like the only black guy in space. And he was the cool one. I just realized, he still has to be cool. And cool is an interesting thing."

Glover joins Alden Ehrenreich, who will play Han Solo in the film set before the events of 1977's "Star Wars." Emilia Clarke has been cast as a new character, and a younger version of fan-favorite character/Han Solo’s co-pilot Chewbacca will also make an appearance.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, the still-untitled Han Solo "Star Wars" anthology film hits theaters in summer 2018.
