Lydia Wilson, best known for her role in the romantic comedy "About Time," has boarded Paramount Pictures' "Star Trek Beyond," Variety reports.

She joins returning stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho and Anton Yelchin, and newcomers Idris Elba, Joe Taslim and Sofia Boutella. Few details are known about director Justin Lin's sequel, other than that Elba is playing the villain.

Marking her film debut in 2010's "Never Let Me Go," Wilson went on to role in such British television series as "Black Mirror," "Misfits" and "Ripper Street."

Written by Pegg and Doug Jung, "Star Trek Beyond" began production in June. The film opens July 8, 2016.
