Thanks to including the debut of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man, the latest trailer for “Captain America: Civil War” caused quite a stir online. The Hollywood Reporter now has a measurement of exactly how big of a stir the trailer caused thanks to the view numbers recorded by ZEFR.
The “Civil War” trailer earned 62,613,449 views on YouTube and Facebook in four days. This number beats previous trailers for blockbusters like “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which earned 50.6 million views in the same time frame; “Jurassic World’s” trailer scored 53.9 million views upon its release. Still, the “Civil War” trailer was unable to topple the record set by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which was watched 64.6 million times in the days after its release.
The release of the second “Civil War” trailer may have boosted views for the first one, as that clip from last November added another 9,317,448 views, bringing its lifetime view total to 120,821,184. The first trailer for Paul Feig’s “Ghostbusters” came in second in its second week of release, adding another 14,282,150 views to it’s total.
“Captain America: Civil War” swings into theaters on May 6.
