But a cryptic tweet from the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse film's official account has just fueled further speculation about the Marvel Multiverse.
The tweet features a picture of Spider-Man looking into an interdimensional portal, accompanied by the caption, "See you in another dimension." While it doesn't offer anything other than that, the tweet's timing and mention of another dimension is enough to have fans wondering if there might be a connection between the upcoming Spider-Man sequel and the animated film.
