In "When We First Met", we spotlight the various characters, phrases, objects or events that eventually became notable parts of comic lore, like the first time someone said, "Avengers Assemble!" or the first appearance of Batman's giant penny or the first appearance of Alfred Pennyworth or the first time Spider-Man's face was shown half-Spidey/half-Peter. Stuff like that.

People often look at the history of Spider-Man and say, "Hey, isn't it weird that Spider-Man let a guy go in Manhattan and then that same guy traveled to Forest Hills, Queens to kill Spider-Man's uncle?"

The thing is, though, that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko clearly DIDN'T always intend for Spider-Man to live in Queens.

At first, it was just "Midtown High"...

It wasn't even until "Amazing Spider-Man" #2 that we knew for sure that Spider-Man lived in New York!!

Through #5, it was just "another part of town"...

Finally, in "Amazing Spider-Man" #7, we learn where Spidey lives.

So that's why Spider-Man's whole geography was kind of weird early on.
