Star Tom Holland took to Instagram to share a new theater display for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The display depicts a Peter Parker wearing his costume and high school blazer as he lies back and listens to music. We’ve seen the image before, on a poster released in March, but here the low wall is replaced with the film’s release date.
Holland, who routinely shows his enthusiasm for the project, recently said he hopes to play Spider-Man for “a very long time,” something he may very well get to do should current opening-weekend estimates hold. Spider-Man: Homecoming is on track for a domestic debut in the realm of $135 million — well above Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man films.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are betting on the film being a success, and have already planned a sequel with a 2019 release date. Before the sequel, though, fans will get to see Holland’s Spider-Man share the screen with the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to hit theaters two months before the Homecoming sequel.
Arriving July 7, director Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
