With just a few months left to go before the film is set to hit movie theaters, reshoots have begun on Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: Homecoming." The news was confirmed by Liz Allan actress Laura Harrier in an Instagram story post. What they're shooting, however, and how much of the cast has returned for reshoots, is currently unknown.

Although some may see the reshoots as a troubling sign for "Spider-Man: Homecoming," it's worth noting that Marvel Studios always pre-schedules reshoots before production even begins. Reshoots are very common in Hollywood, especially when it comes to huge blockbusters such as "Spider-Man: Homecoming." The studio typically schedules a couple of weeks of filming with the additional scenes planned out well in advance.

Given that Harrier is returning for reshoots, it's more than likely most of the young cast will also return, including -- but not limited to -- Zendaya, Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds). For now, we'll just have to continue to keep an eye on the social media activity of the film's core cast for further leads.

Directed by Jon Watts ("Cop Car"), "Spider-Man: Homecoming" stars Tom Holland as the web-slinger and will see Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man helping the young hero take on Michael Keaton's villainous Vulture. The film is set for a July 7 release. A sequel to "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has already been announced for 2019.
