Jacob Batalon, the actor who portrayed Ned in Marvel Studios and Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming, would love to see Venom as the big bad in the sequel.

Talking with Screenrant at this year's New York Comic Con, Batalon was pressed on who he'd place as the villain in the next Spider-Man movie "in a fantasy world." "It would be interesting to see, like, Venom, but that’s just me though," the actor revealed. "We’ll see what happens. I’m not gonna say nothing else."

Of course, the odds of this coming to fruition are probably not that strong. Not only is star Tom Hardy's Venom film being positioned as an R-rated franchise, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has gone to character is part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe, he isn't necessarily part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I think they’re focusing on making a great Venom movie," the Marvel Studios President said. "And I don’t know much about it, but I know they’re off to a good start with Tom Hardy.”

Sony and Marvel have a little while to settle on who will plague Spidey next; the sequel is set to arrive July 5, 2019, just two months after Marvel’s Avengers 4, and will pick up right after the events of that film.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
