Although Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man has come to an end, fans will still get a dose of wall-crawling animated adventures when Marvel's Spider-Man debuts later this year on Disney XD. To get viewers excited for the series premiere, artist Patrick Brown shared a piece of promo artwork to his Facebook featuring Spider-Man surrounded by his rogues gallery of Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Lizard and Rhino.

Brown confirmed on his DeviantART page that the art is for the animated series, along with the message, "Here's some more of my Marvel work, I have so much fun on Spider-man, especially being a hardcore Spidey fan since I was a kid. These characters were all created separately but now that I'm allowed to share them I decided to put them into a scene and make a full piece. I hope you like it!"

Although there’s been no confirmation by either Marvel Television or Disney XD, merchandise surfaced suggesting that Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen will have prominent roles in the series. Venom is also depicted.

Both Miles Morales and Spider-Woman (aka Spider-Gwen) appeared on Ultimate Spider-Man, which premiered in 2012 as part of Disney XD’s Marvel Universe programming block. The series initially centered on the wall-crawler (voiced by Drake Bell) just one year into his career, as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury (Chi McBride) offered him a chance to train alongside four other teenagers — Nova, White Tiger, Iron Fist and Power Man — to become a real superhero.

With the third season, the series was retitled Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors, with Spider-Man assigned by Fury to form the New Warriors. The current fourth and final season, Ultimate Spider-Man Vs. the Sinister 6, opened with Doctor Octopus forming a new version of the Sinister Six, but also brought in Carnage and elements similar to "The Clone Saga.”

No casting announcements have been made for Marvel’s Spider-Man. Philip Pignotti (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble) is the supervising director, with Kevin Shinick (Robot Chicken) serving as story editor. Consulting producers are Dan Slott (Spider-Man: Big Time, The Superior Spider-Man), Kevin Burke and Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man).
