Spider-Man 3, Superman, X-Men 3, Smallville: January 24th Comic Reel Wrap

SPIDER-MAN 3

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “One-time ‘Black Widow’ star Theresa Russell has … joined the cast of ‘Spider-Man 3’ for Columbia Pictures. Russell will play Mrs. Marko, the wife of Flint Marko, aka the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). Plot details from Alvin Sargent’s screenplay are scarce, though it is known that the villainous couple has a daughter … Shooting is set to start this month.”

SUPERMAN

Don’t call it a comeback — the Superman Homepage is reporting that “Dana Delany and Tim Daly will reprise their roles from ‘Superman: The Animated Series’ with an all-new DVD movie from Warner Bros. Animation later this year. In ‘Superman: Brainiac Attacks,’ the Man of Steel faces a combined threat from his two biggest foes, Lex Luthor and Brainiac. But perhaps even more daunting will be getting in touch with his feelings for Lois.”

X-MEN 3

There’s a note at The XVerse saying that “a publicist for 20th Century Fox has confirmed to us that the rumored title for X-Men 3, ‘X-Men: The Last Stand,’ is currently being cleared for usage. The title also appeared in a review of 2006 films by USA Today, lending further support to the notion. Should everything be cleared within Fox, the film will officially be known as ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.'”

SMALLVILLE

There’s a new preview clip of Thursday’s 100th episode over at AOL with a huge spoiler embedded within. Kryptonsite has screen captures which tell the tale. The site also has the poster and the titles for two April episodes on their spoiler page.

READY FOR YOUR CLOSE UP?

Here’s where you get in on the action. Did you see a link we didn’t catch? Have you snuck into a closed movie set, and have inside data? Maybe your cousin is dating somebody who knows something, and they had to tell you? Whatever it is, we wanna know it all — fire off an email and let us know whether you want your name used or your contributions to geekdom to go down anonymously. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is novelist/reviewer/karaoke host/all-around lunatic Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and [tagline sent back to development hell until something hipper can be dreamed up].
