As "Star Wars" devotees scour the trailers for "Rogue One" searching for connections to the rest of the saga, some thought they may have found one in the Rebel leader who rattles of Jyn Erso's list of crimes. Could he be Agent Kallus, the fan-favorite Imperial officer from "Star Wars Rebels"? Alas, no.

Director Gareth Edwards tells Entertainment Weekly the mysterious man in the trailers isn't Kallus, now a defector to the Rebel cause, but rather a new character named General Draven, played by actor Alistair Petrie. He added that the new character's identity wasn't intended to be a secret, saying, "Sometimes I read stuff online like it's this big thing that's been leaked, and I thought, 'Oh, I thought people knew that.'"

While we don't yet know much about Draven, fans are certainly familiar with the other Rebel leader depicted in the same scene: Mon Mothma, played by Genevieve O’Reilly, a character who debuted in "Return of the Jedi," where she was portrayed by Caroline Blakistan.
