Earlier this year, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's vision of a world where cops battle superpowered criminals made its long-awaited leap from comics to live action. Today, it was announced that a second season has been picked up for the drama.

Sony tells "The Hollywood Reporter" that "Powers" will return to the Playstation Network in 2016.

"The reception to Powers has been incredible and we are thrilled to have successfully launched a platform for original content with the PlayStation gamer in mind," John Koller, VP Platforms Marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America tells THR. "We believe original content will continue to be a key pillar as we broaden the value proposition for PlayStation Plus, and we're excited for what's to come with season two of Powers."

"Powers," starring Sharlto Copley, Susan Heyward, Eddie Izzard and Michelle Forbes, is available to watch now on the Playstation Network.
