THIS COMIC IS GOOD

There are a few comics out there that are good and I never really get around to talking about them much, for whatever reason, so here I'll talk about one!

Star Wars: Legacy

Star Wars: Legacy is not without its problems. There have been a few lackluster issues here and there, but for the most part, it is remarkable to me to see how interesting of a little universe John Ostrander has created here (it IS Ostrander creating it, right? Or is he working off of stuff he's told to do by LucasFilm? I have no idea, really), set 125 years after Return of the Jedi.

I was reminded of this this past week when Dark Horse released Star Wars: Legacy #0 1/2, which was quite useful, because while Ostrander has built an interesting universe, it can be a bit daunting to new readers, so this one-shot was helpful to explaining the plot and all the various cast members. I suppose you could argue that such a resource could have been offered by Dark Horse at a slightly cheaper than usual price (as it is basically a big "Previously..." issue), but it turned out to be interesting enough on its own that it probably WAS worth the price.

Anyhow, the main character in the book is Cade Skywalker, who is basically "What is Han Solo was a Skywalker?," as Cade is a "bad boy" bounty hunter who eventually has embraced his Jedi heritage.

While Cade is intriguing, the book is filled with other likable characters, with the most interesting to me being the ones who are working for the Empire, as the various Grand Moffs in the book have excellent backstories, and one of the Empire's top agents is secretly Cade's MOTHER (how nice to see an older female character given such prominence in a comic)!

The book has just reached a big turning point, with Cade finally seeming to embrace his Jedi heritage, so now is a good time to pick the book up (and even better if you read #0 1/2 first!).

So yeah, Star Wars: Legacy is a good comic.

COVER THEME GAME

As always, here is the game. I show three covers. They all have something in common, whether it be a character, a trait all three characters share, locale, creator, SOMEthing. And it isn't something obvious like "They all have prices!" "They all have logos!" "They all feature a man!" etc.

In addition, please note that you must have some familiarity with comic book history to correctly guess these comics. You cannot guess the connective theme just by looking at the covers solely, you must have some knowledge beyond just the covers.

A cool point to the first person to figure it out!

Good luck!
