Release date: 2010.

BARBARELLA

What about that Robert Rodriguez-helmed remake? Yeah, not so much, or so the director told MTV. “It was a real bummer,” he said. “We had all this artwork and screen tests of what it would look like. It was a really cool, R-rated, sexy-almost like that [1981 animated] movie, Heavy Metal-version of a Star Wars movie. Something that no one ever could get to see. It was gonna be really great.”

No release date announced. Or likely.

CONAN

Speaking of changes, Empire magazine reports that producer Joe Gatta said there will be no Brett Ratner involved with the project. “We’re currently in the process of hiring a director,” Gatta said. “For the past six months we were discussing the movie with Brett Ratner, and for more timing issues than anything else we had to part ways with Brett. We all wanted him to do it, believe me; just the timing didn’t work. But you never know what can happen.” They hope to stat production in Bulgaria on August 24th with “Red Sonja” sometime in 2010.

No release date announced.
