‘Slumdog Millionaire’ Team Brings World War II Miniseries to FX

The Oscar-winning team behind Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours is heading to television.

Deadline reports Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy and Christian Colson have teamed up with FX for a 10-part miniseries called Telemark, based on the true story of British-trained Norwegian resistance fighters who fought against Hitler and derailed the Nazis’ nuclear development program during World War II. Beaufoy is writing the project.

Paramount Pictures just picked up the film rights to an action-thriller on the very same subject, to be produced by Michael Bay.

“This is one of the world’s greatest stories and we want to tell it on an epic scale,” Boyle said in a statement.

Telemark marks the second green-lit limited series at FX, following Fargo, based on the classic Coen brothers film.
