Joe Casey has a lot of irons in the fire: In addition to his comics series Sex, The Bounce and Catalyst Comix, he's part of the team behind the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. And now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, an adaptation of his comic Officer Downe is in development.

The film will mark the feature directorial debut of Slipknot drummer Shawn "Clown" Crahan, who has helmed several of the metal band's videos. Casey wrote the screenplay.

Created by Casey and artist Chris Burnahm, the 2010 Image Comics one-shot centers on a Los Angeles cop who is resurrected any time he dies in the line of duty in order to go back to work cleaning up the streets.

Casey and his Man of Action Studios will produce Officer Downe, along with Skip Williamson (Underworld, Crank) and Mark Neveldine (Crank, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance). Slipknot's manager Cory Brennan will executive produce.
