Sony's "Amazing Spider-Man" universe is looking to expand considerably with a variety of spinoff films in the works. The biggest one on the horizon is "Sinister Six," but fans don't know too much information outside of the title. Thankfully producer Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad are able to shed more light on what to expect from the villain-centric movie in an interview with IGN.

While there's no confirmation as to whether Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) will swing his way into the spinoff, audiences will at least get a better insight on what's going on in the minds of Spidey's nemeses, and may even exhibit some sympathy for them. "There are villains by virtue of choices that people make but they always begin as humans, as characters. As flawed people; as tragic people. You know great movies have been made about a bunch of bad guys who get together to do something," Tolmach told IGN. "Those are sometimes the greatest characters to watch. A bunch of broken people coming together for whatever reason."

Arad continued, discussing the intriguing stories of these characters and why it works so well as it's own solo film, rather than another Spider-Man sequel. "As long as there's that one thing in common: they'll hate Spider-Man," Arad said. "They'll hate him because he's so different from them. But then, you know when you sit by yourself somewhere and you think about it, they all had a different life at one time and that's what's so beautiful about the Spider-Man universe. They have amazing stories if you look at it.

"And everybody's looking for redemption; they're unforgiven," he continued. "Would you see one of the Sinister Six starting to feel like that? Yes. And people love it, by the way. They love when a villain finds his way back because we're all very forgiving."

At the very least, fans will be able to see some villains find their place in less than a month's time when "Amazing Spider-Man 2" is in theaters.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is out in theaters on May 2, 2014.
