There are days when the world simply sucks and the only way to preserve your sanity is the comfort and the slight buzz offered by a refreshing “White Wine Spritzer,” or that pleasant ringing in your ears induced by a blast of "Simpsons"-inspired heavy rock played at skull shattering volumes. Now, thanks to the Ned Flanders-themed quintet Okilly Dokilly, you don’t have to choose.

Okilly Dokilly hails from Phoenix Arizona and packs a musical and visual punch all its own. The band has forgone the flowing locks (and buzzcuts), the tattoos and the leather favored by their contemporaries for the slicked back hair, granny glasses, green sweaters and grey slacks of Homer Simpson’s bible-thumping neighbor. The hard rock outfit consists of Head Ned on vocals, Red Ned on Keyboards, Stead Ned on guitar, Thread Ned on bass and Bled Ned on drums.

Oh, and don’t call this assembly of Flanders lookalikes a trash band or anything of the sort. The quintet plays Nedal, which is “Not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk.” Whatever you choose to call it, Okilly Dokilly is loud as hell.

Like all of the band’s songs, “White Wine Spritzer” is based on actual Ned Flanders dialogue from "The Simpsons." The lyrics are “You only live once. Ah hell, give me a white wine spritzer,” and are taken from the tenth episode of the tenth season of the prime time cartoon.
