Over the course of 13 films, Marvel Studios has been praised for its exceptional casting -- and not just for its titular roles. From the likes of Tommy Lee Jones to Glenn Close and Robert Redford, Marvel has been able to wrangle some of Hollywood's best to grace its movies. Well, based on a new interview with Oscar-nominee Sigourney Weaver, there's reason to believe she could be the next A-lister to join the House of Ideas' cinematic universe.

Speaking with Wired, Weaver mentioned that she has -- suddenly -- been watching a lot of Marvel films. “I have been watching, for whatever reason, some Marvel movies, and they cast really good actors.”

While there isn’t much to go on from that quote, the “for whatever reason” line from Weaver could be hinting at possible discussions with Marvel. Additionally, when asked why she’s suddenly gone through the MCU catalogue, she exclaimed, “I can’t tell you!”

So, while this is all speculation for now, perhaps the actress who gave us Ellen Ripley could be teaming up with one of Marvel’s beloved heroes sooner than we think...
