So far, we have only gotten fleeting glances at the villains of “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. We know that Michael Keaton’s Vulture has been credited as Spider-Man’s primary adversary, but in the English language trailers so far, we’ve only gotten a fleeting glimpse at him. In this new Spanish-dubbed trailer, we get a slightly clearer look at his costume, as well as Bokeem Woodvine’s Shocker.
Besides the novelty of hearing Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark speak in a rich Spanish baritone, and revisiting Spidey’s “Captain America: Civil War” debut, we get a decent live-action look at the costume of the Shocker, who’s quilted shirt sleeves and glowing purple power gauntlets look a lot like the Herman Schultz Shocker of the comics, albeit maskless.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Directed by Jon Watts (“Clown”), written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (“Vacation”) and starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Donald Glover and many, many others, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
