As Marvel Studios expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+, a casting description from its planned She-Hulk series reveals new details about the eponymous superhero's origins.

The series is searching for a woman aged 26-34 with no race specified to portray its lead character Jennifer Walters. Just like her comic book origin in 1980's Savage She-Hulk #1 by Stan Lee and John Buscema, the character is a lawyer who gains her powers after receiving a gamma-radiated blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner. It is unclear if Mark Ruffalo will reprise his MCU role as Banner, but the mention of his character and Ruffalo's public interest in returning to the MCU hint at his continued involvement.

Interestingly, the casting description also cites She-Hulk as a future Avenger, hinting at the return of the MCU's Earth's Mightiest Heroes -- albeit with a much different roster than previously seen in Avengers: Endgame. This could indicate that Disney+'s television heroes will transition to the big screen at some point down the line.

Additional details about the series are still under wraps, but She-Hulk will reportedly begin principal photography this July. Pre-production, on the other hand, is fully underway.
