Shazam! hit a U.S. domestic box office milestone before starting its third weekend of release. The DC superhero movie passed the $100 million mark on Wednesday and headed into the weekend with a second place finish in its sights.

According to Deadline, Shazam! will head into the weekend with $101.3 million following its 13th day of release. While it will fail to finish in first place, the movie will still finish with an additional $16.5 million to move its total closer to $120 million domestically.

Warner Bros. is surely hoping for some nice days heading into next weekend, since the arrival of Avengers: Endgame is likely to crush all the competition. This is especially true for a fellow superhero movie like Shazam!, since the two have similar fanbases. The fourth Avengers movie is headed toward a $900 million opening weekend worldwide.

Internationally, Shazam! is sitting at $288 million worldwide. While these numbers are astronomically lower than a movie like Avengers: Endgame, the fact that Shazam! had a $100 million production budget means the DC movie will end up a financial success.

Comparatively, Aquaman passed $100 million in just six days, but it also had the holiday season to inflate its numbers. It ended up breaking $1 billion worldwide but it also didn't have a Marvel blockbuster to compete with either.
