Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will introduce Simu Liu's Shang-Chi to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with a host of new characters. Rumored to be joining the cast is Awkwafina as Fah Lo Suee/Zheng Bao Yu, daughter of the villainous Zheng Zu (more commonly known by the alias Fu Manchu) and half-sister to Shang-Chi. However, while her ties to hero Shang-Chi are clear, Zheng Bao Yu is more of a villain/anti-hero herself. Should she appear in the film, it could mean a dangerous alien species — the Brood — would accompany her, providing Shang-Chi with a world of hurt.

In the comics, Zheng Bao Yu she leads the Celestial Order of the Hai-Dai, an order of ninjas loyal to her father. She sets up a lab under Chinatown and restarts her father's experiments on the Brood. Zheng Bao would use the alien race to commit assassinations on all her enemies.

When her monsters start appearing in Chinatown, the Fearless Defenders (Valkyrie, Misty Knight and Elsa Bloodstone) catch wind of Zheng Bao Yu's plot and set out to destroy the lab and stop her from using the alien race to enact her agenda. This leads to a massive brawl, resulting in the destruction of Zheng Bao Yu's plan.

Should Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings decide to draw inspiration from the comics, the Brood may appear in the film as a villainous aid to Zheng Bao. the Brood are a parasitic alien lifeform that were birthed from another reality. In the comics, they have been experimented on by the Kree, fought against En Sabah Nur in the days of Ancient Egypt and have left countless planets barren thanks to their ravaging of all life. Brood implant embryos into hosts, who then grow by overtaking the host's body, blending its genetics with theirs. They are a sadistic race of aliens, comparable to demons.

Marvel alien race the Brood

They fought against the X-Men and Carol Danvers throughout their career, first working with the Shi'ar Deathbird to help establish her as the ruler of the Shi'ar, before just invading Earth with only the X-Men to stand in their way. Since then, the Brood have plagued both the mutants and Captain Marvel throughout their history, providing a nightmarish force of demonic aliens that cannot be fully stopped.

While Zheng Bao Yu only experimented on the Brood after their initial appearance, this might offer a glimpse at either where her character might go, what sort of alien henchmen she and her father might employ during the events of Shang-Chi, or potentially what enemies the X-Men might face once they emerge in the MCU. Undeniably, the Brood threat could tie both the earth-based and cosmic MCU together against one common threat — annihilation from an alien invasion. The only danger is posed to Zheng Bao Yu herself, who might have no idea the sheer danger she'll be creating by crafting a race of parasitic aliens.
