The news follows an announcement made last month that the film has officially started production, along with a photo released featuring some of the main cast.
Aguilera’s recent work includes appearances in “Ice” and “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.” He joins Sterling K. Brown (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”), Trevante Rhodes (“Moonlight”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Jacob Tremblay (“Room”), Olivia Munn (“X-Men: Apocalypse”) and Keegan-Michael Key (“Key & Peele”).
Plot details for the film have yet to be revealed, however, it will include graphic content, and is rated R. “The Predator” will be a continuation of the franchise that began with 1987’s “Predator.”
Shane Black is directing the movie with a script co-written by him and Fred Dekker. Black is known for writing the screenplay for “Lethal Weapon” and “Iron Man 3,” and more recently for directing 2016’s “The Nice Guys.” “The Predator” is scheduled for release on February 9, 2018.
