Writer/director Shane Black revealed over the weekend that his long-in-the-works "Predator" film would begin production on Monday. Following up on those previous tweets, Black has posted the first cast photo from "The Predator," announcing that the film has officially started production.

The pictured cast, which Black notes is just part of the film's cast, includes Sterling K. Brown ("The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story"), Trevante Rhodes ("Moonlight"), Boyd Holbrook ("Logan"), Jacob Tremblay ("Room"), Olivia Munn ("X-Men: Apocalypse") and Keegan-Michael Key ("Key & Peele"). Shane Black also appears in the picture, crouched next to Tremblay.

There's not a lot known about the film itself. The film has slowly filled out its cast over the past few months, but an official synopsis for the film has not yet been released. We do know, though, that the film will be bloody and rated R.

“The Predator” will be Black’s follow-up to 2016’s “The Nice Guys,” a ’70s thriller that starred Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. The next “Predator” film will be the first in the franchise since 2010’s “Predators.”

Written and directed by Shane Black, “The Predator” stars Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key and 50 Cent. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on Feb. 9, 2018.
