BBC America's sci-fi drama "Orphan Black" took the stage at San Diego's Comic-Con International to answer fan questions about the first three seasons and look forward to season 4. On hand were stars Tatiana Maslany (Sarah and the Leda clones), Jordan Gavaris (Felix), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Mrs. S), Dylan Bruce (Paul), Kristian Bruun (Donnie), and Ari Millen (Mark and the Castor clones) and co-creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson. Moderating the panel was "Parks and Recreation" star Retta.

Fawcett discussed the "baby shower" season opener, saying, "I just thought it was a weird, wacky opening to the season that nobody would expect."

On "making Rudy and Seth pervs," in Retta's words, Manson said he thought it would "make them fun to kill." He added that "Mark is maybe the only brother that's redeemable."

Next, Retta offered fans a "treat," playing a short blooper reel of outtakes from season three.

Bruce said he was happy to see his character "goin' out like a boss," adding that he first heard Paul would die last year at Comic-Con.

Retta said Paul was "kind of a douche," and Bruce said his mother agreed. "But he kind of redeemed himself, he went out as a gentleman hero. Like a boss," Bruce said.

Brrun said "there were several underwear fittings" for his Donnie's memorable twerking scene, and "they were all in various shades of blue. Boxers were not an option." Maslany said that this scene, too, had its origins in Comic-Con, where "we were dancing at some bar where no one else was dancing, like idiots."

Asked about her signing on "Orphan Black," Kennedy spoke about her own career in a band. Singing on set, her castmates realized, "oh, you're a singer singer."

On the subject of Felix's "butch" turn and stealing Crystal's identity, Gavaris said that "the dream is to walk into a scene and not really be sure how it will play out," and then find the strength of the scene.

Kennedy joked that nobody could think of anything bad to say about Maslany, "but I've thought of one."

"Every now and then, she'll let one off, a big fart," Kennedy said.

"I'm proud of it, I don't see it as a flaw," Maslany said.

Maslany said she thought Crystal was going to be a one-off, "but I was really obsessed with the 'Kroll Show' at the time, and I was just walking around being Jenny Slate." So that became a character.

Retta next talked about "the 'Parent Trap' angle, when everybody's always pretending to be someone else - and Helena is terrible at it." She asked how Alison, when playing Sarah, could do an English accent. "She is a trained theatrical actress," Maslany said. Gavaris added that Felix helped her train.

The discussion then turned to the LGBT-positive nature of the show. Fawcett said that Felix was one of the first characters developed, always envisioned as "a gay stepbrother," but beyond that they just wanted to create strong characters. Manson added that sexuality plays into a lot of the themes of the clones, but "sexuality was never at the forefront."

"Television has gotten a lot better at representation - well, not a lot better - but we've got to a point where we should be beyond asking," Manson said.

And on the topic of Delphine's departure, Gavaris said that "to treat these relationships with the most honesty, the most integrity, that also means you have to be willing to end them."

The floor was then opened to questions.

Asked about fan interactions, "Comic-Con is the most amazing thing for breaking that wall" between actors and fans, Maslany said. Manson added that it's not just actors fans, but fans and other fans in the "Clone Club."

A fan asked about the possibility of a prequel with the European clones before Katya came over. "We've always kind of talked about Helena's backstory, a lot," Fawcett said. He said there would be a comic tie-in in the Fall set in Helsinki, when "the clones were 17 -- it'll be like a clone 'Breakfast Club.'" Bruce joked, "Can I play Emilio Estevez?"

Asked which clone she'd miss if the character died, Maslany said, "Alison - I love them all, but the one popping into my head is Alison."

Kennedy said the clone dinner party took two 18-hour days to film. "Tatiana had to eat all this food, because Helena likes to eat so much, and by the second day she was just ugh," she said, groaning and falling back. Maslany said that she was also told to put "all this sugar on everything," "so I'm sitting there eating broccoli with this mound of white sugar on it."

A fan in Ukranian Cosima cosplay made Fawcett's day, as he said "that is exactly the cosplay I was hoping to see."

"Kira ia obviously important in the big picture of our mystery," Fawcett said when asked about Sarah's daughter''s uniqueness, "but it's a bit of a slow burn for us." Some answers are forthcoming in season 4.

The panel ended parody clips of the horror-styled "Donny and Alison 2: Seester Sineestra" and another styled after Happy Days, before showing a telenovela "Las Drogas de Amor."
