Warner Bros. has released the teaser trailer and behind-the-scenes footage for the highly anticipated Veronica Mars movie screened Friday at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Series creator Rob Thomas raised money for the film with a Kickstarter campaign in March that surpassed its $2 million goal in just one day, breaking records for the crowd-funding website. When all was said and done, the drive generated more than $5.7 million in pledges.

The Veronica Mars movie picks up 10 years after the cult show, which aired from 2004 to 2007 on first UPN and then The CW, with Veronica (star Kristen Bell) and her former classmates return to Neptune for their 10-year high school reunion.
