Cinemax made a splash at Comic-Con International with the debut of the first trailer for "Outcast," the latest series from "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman. The show is an adaptation of Kirkman and co-creator Paul Azaceta's Image Comics/Skybound series.

Unable to attend the convention due to throat surgery, Kirkman described the basic plot of the show via a video presentation at the show's first-ever SDCC panel. "We're going to come at things at a different angle," he said of the story. "It's about the people and their struggles because that's the stuff that actually matters."

"Outcast" follows Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), a young man who's been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Rev. Anderson (Philip Glenister), a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost.
