SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD
Director Edgar Wright mentioned the film’s soundtrack album on Twitter. In his first post he says, “It looks like there is so much music in Scott Pilgrim, we might be talking a two volume soundtrack. How exciting!” He then follows up with “I can also confirm that the 1st volume contains 6 tracks from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s playlists in the books. Guess which 6 were my favs too.” I suppose a movie based on “Scott Pilgrim” would need the extra space of a second CD to contain all that music. Well, if we still bought our music in physical media.
Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010
COWBOYS & ALIENS
Collider confirmed the photo from the other day is, in fact, Daniel Craig with a lot of backlighting. “That’s him,” says director Jon Favreau. “We couldn’t really show too much because he didn’t want to reveal any images on Twitter but I wanted to kind of get a sense of the feel of it. He’s also somebody who plays an iconic figure that has a long tradition. So to have him playing a cowboy, I feel very good now having shot him and worked with him and hearing his thoughts.”
Starring Daniel Craig, release date: July 29th, 2011
THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN
Collider also talked with screenwriters Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard about their involvement with the film:
Directed by Steven Spielberg, release date: December 23, 2011
In a Cannes Film Festival News round up, Deadline mentions Chad St John is writing the script. Presumably, he’ll be using the “Sgt. Rock in the future” premise producer Joel Silver mentioned awhile back.

COMIC-CON EPISODE FOUR: A FAN’S HOPE
We were sent the following press release about the upcoming documentary:
MORGAN SPURLOCK, STAN LEE, JOSS WHEDON, HARRY KNOWLES AND THOMAS TULL BRING COMIC-CON CULTURE TO LIFE WITH GROUNDBREAKING NEW FEATURE DOCUMENTARY: ‘COMIC-CON EPISODE FOUR: A FAN’S HOPE’
Burbank, CA – May 20, 2010 –  Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, producers Thomas Tull and Jeremy Chilnick along with comics icon Stan Lee, writer/producer Joss Whedon and online film guru Harry Knowles have joined together to bring audiences the feature length documentary COMIC-CON ESPISODE FOUR: A FAN’S HOPE.  The concept for the film is spurred by the ever-growing influence that San Diego Comic-Con continues to have on comics, film, television and pop-culture. The feature documentary will follow seven different people from across America, and around the world, as they descend upon and the veritable Mecca of fandom and experience the rapture that is Comic-Con.
Stan Lee, who is the chairman of Pow! Entertainment, said “An incredible phenomenon is occurring throughout the world. The once-denigrated comicbook has become one of the mightiest pillars of today’s culture. Many of our highest-grossing movies, best selling toys and most popular video games owe their existence to the increasingly influential comicbook. Truly, we live in the day of an ever-burgeoning, ever-growing comicbook culture.”
“When I was a kid, comics changed my life and my world,” said director Morgan Spurlock. “So when I got to San Diego, I felt like I was home. It was such an overwhelming experience for me, and I soon found out that I was not alone. So for me to get to share the experience of Comic-Con with fans all over the world will be an incredible opportunity.”
Thomas Tull, who is producing outside of his day job as Chairman of Legendary Pictures, said “There is no age limit to a fanboy or girl; rather it is a mindset and a love of comics and all things inspired by them that make up this growing community. We look forward to capturing the spirit, energy and people that Comic-Con has infused into legions of fans, bringing these audiences and projects out of the Halls and onto a world stage.”
Harry Knowles said “Comic-Con and the culture that swirls around it is such a beautiful, bizarre and varied universe to capture. I for one, cannot wait to have Morgan film and share it with the world. I’ve been going to Comic-Con since 1974 and have been amazed that nobody has mounted a serious attempt at documenting what it is that happens there. This is an incredibly exciting project, one that I’m very proud to be a part of!”
Added David Glanzer, spokesperson for Comic-Con, “Since our first convention in 1970 our attendees have long known that comics are as viable form of art and entertainment as any other. We look forward to Morgan sharing this message with an even broader audience.”
COMIC-CON EPISODE FOUR: A FAN’S HOPE will begin shooting in June and culminate its principal photography at this year’s Comic-Con in July. Â Morgan Spurlock will direct the film and Thomas Tull will produce alongside Spurlock’s Warrior Poets producing partner, Jeremy Chilnick. Â Stan Lee, Joss Whedon and Harry Knowles will executive produce. The film will capture not only a moment in time that literally touches hundreds of thousands of people, but a world that inspires us all – but more than anything else, it will show us that whether at home or away, in costume or not, en masse or alone, we should all have the courage and confidence to be ourselves.

RISE OF THE APES
Deadline reports actor James Franco (the “Spider-Man” films, “Milk”) is set to star in Fox’s “Planet of the Apes” reboot/”Conquest of the Planet of the Apes” remake. Franco will play “a young scientist who becomes a crucial figure in the war between humans and apes.” Anyone think his name will be Cornelius? Also, can anyone think of “Planet of the Apes” and not think of Troy McClure’s classic turn as “The Human?”
Release date: June 24th, 2011
THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER
IGN has the first poster for the film:
Shame it’s all negative space with nothing but text and that tiny mouse warrior. You’d think they would’ve put something there like a picture of the ship or maybe even Aslan. I guess my faith in the series is waning.
Release date: TBA
Tom Welling, now an executive producer on the show’s tenth and (presumably) final season tells IGN he is unsure if he’s be in the suit come September. ” I don’t know what the storyline is. What we’ve done in the past is we’ve been able to tease it, and I think keep it interesting for fans. And I think that they’ll be more. We’ll see more of the suit this year – I would think we’d have to,” he says. Asked if he’s excited to wear the suit, Welling said he’s “Terrified. Absolutely terrified! He also tells MTV News he wants to see Lex:

WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND
Well, with the TV Upfronts week now over, perhaps the news cycle will spin up again during the last several hours of the workday. Late Friday announcements in the past year have included pretty much every cast member of “Green Lantern” and at least one member of “Thor.” Perhaps we’ll hear something wild and exciting today. I’m actually going to learn how to cook something beyond boiling pasta and canned soup over the weekend. Wish me luck with my first foray into culinary adventure. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of leftovers.
