The latest round of "Ghost in the Shell" TV spots have arrived, and while each one has a slightly different theme and mix of footage, all four of them focus on Scarlett Johansson's character, The Major.

Her origins and her relationship with the film's primary antagonist Kuze (Michael Pitt) are the core of the "Control" spot.

"Wake Up" centers more on the initial moments of The Major gaining consciousness in her new replacement body shell.

"Fog of Memory" hints at the attack that caused The Major to lose her old body in the first place.

Finally, "Past" pairs The Major with her Section 9 colleague Batou (Pilou Asbæk), although we only see them together for a second or two before the promo cuts to some more solo scenes of the Major in action and some repetition of the origin beats from the other spots.

Based on Masamune Shirow’s popular cyberpunk manga, as well as Mamoru Oshii’s anime adaptations, the live-cation film stars Johansson as a cyborg-human hybrid who leads Section 9, a task force assigned to stop cyber-criminals. Now they face a new enemy devoted to destroying Hanka Robotic’s artificial intelligence technology.

Directed by Rupert Sanders (“Snow White and the Hunstman”), “Ghost in the Shell” also stars Daisuke Aramaki, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, and Kaori Momoi. The movie opens March 31.
